Spring in SNU, South Korea

The temperatures in Korea are soaring and it feels like summer is just around the corner (28degrees celsius!). So I thought I would do a little throwback to spring, when my friend and I went on a walk through SNU campus and took photos. The sun was bright but not blinding, and it also rained, but flowers instead of water (I call this frain! flower + rain).

These flowers smell so nice when they bloom.

The skies during spring are so blue they almost seem fake. It’s a pity that during the summer the skies are more gray than blue… mostly due to the massive amount of rain that falls during the peak of summertime. Sigh.
(11)DSC_0387(12)DSC_0389My favorite type of cherry blossom tree. It’s a mix between a normal cherry blossom tree and a weeping willow tree. It looks sad and happy at the same time when the flowers are in full bloom. The best part about SNU is that there are so many different types of cherry blossoms; you can pick and choose your favorite!

I hope the weather doesn’t get hotter too fast. It’s still mildly bearable to sit in the shade, but I know that during the summer the only comfort you can get is through the breeze of the aircon. Let us look at pictures of spring and reminisce of a better time…

Until next time! 🙂

  1. Hi, I just wanted to let you know I really enjoy reading your blog. I’m going to study at Kyung Hee University during the spring semester of 2014. Seeing the beautiful scenery and delicious food you post on your blog (That combined with the interesting way you write your stories), makes me really excited and a bit impatient (haha).

I could not find a email address on the blog, so I decided to post it as a comment.

    Keep up the good work!

    Greetings from the Netherlands.

    • Hi Ming,
Thanks so much for your comment 🙂 It really makes me happy that some people actually appreciate my little blog haha
Wow Kyunghee University? You’re really in for a treat because Kyunghee Uni is considered to have one of the most beautiful campuses in Korea! Esp during the spring when everything starts to bloom.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at yorimcha@gmail.com

      Thanks!:-)

      • Thanks for the fast reply Yorimcha, I think that there are plenty of people whom appreciate your blog, but are simply too shy to respond or just don’t know what to say :P. If I have any questions concerning Korea or Kyunghee, I will definitely mail you about it. (be prepared for a overload of stupid questions ,haha). Also, if you don’t mind, I’ll also send you a link to my blog when I depart from the Netherlands.

  2. I wish I got to take some photos of the cherry blossoms when they were in full bloom. I went to Jinhae’s Cherry Blossom Festival last so the cherries were already falling. Great photos.
